Summer is here and we’ve got five of the chefs putting their own unique spin on the season’s perennial cookout companion: hot dogs. Grant gives hot dogs the smash burger treatment, Nick riffs on a Seattle dog (yup, cream cheese is involved), and Anjana Shanker ups the ante on crunch with a dog garnished with crispy curry leaves, peanuts, shallots, and a cilantro relish.

We’ve also got Matthew’s homemade seitan dogs drizzled with carrot mustard and a quick-style kraut, and Kyl’s boudin blanc sandwiches dressed with spicy serrano cheese sauce and a vinegary pepper relish.

Get the sides and salads ready, because summer doesn’t last nearly long enough to satisfy the new hot dog cravings you’re about to be hit with.
